ITR Filing: Remember to e-verify your Returns after Filing

The Income Tax Department has requested all taxpayers to submit their income tax returns (ITR) by July 31. The government has stated that they will not extend this deadline any further. So, make sure to file your ITR on time!

Why should you e-verify?

Completing your income tax return filing is only one part of the process. You also need to e-verify your ITR within 30 days of filing to finish the entire procedure. The easiest and fastest way to confirm your tax return is by using e-Verification.

e-Verify your ITR using different online methods:

  1. Receive an OTP on the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar and use it for verification.
  2. Generate an Electronic Verification Code (EVC) through your pre-validated bank account and use it for verification.
  3. Generate an Electronic Verification Code (EVC) through your pre-validated demat account and use it for verification.
  4. Obtain an EVC through ATM (offline method) and use it for verification.
  5. Use Net Banking for verification.
  6. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for verification.

Once you have successfully completed the e-verification process, you will receive a confirmation message with a transaction ID. Additionally, an email will be sent to your registered address to confirm the successful verification.

This ensures that your income tax return filing process is complete and verified.
