Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently released the notification for the RBI Assistant recruitment in 2023. If you’re interested in applying, the application process has already begun on opportunities.rbi.org.in. Don’t forget that you have until October 4th to submit your application.
In this recruitment drive, RBI has set a goal to fill a total of 450 Assistant vacancies.
The preliminary online test for RBI Assistant 2023 is scheduled for October 21 and 23. Following this, the main exam is expected to be conducted on December 2.
Eligibility
For these vacancies, candidates who are Indian citizens or subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962, are eligible to apply.
Additionally, individuals of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, as well as East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, with the intention of establishing permanent residence in India, are also eligible to apply for these positions.
However, for candidates falling into this category, it’s important to note that they will need to obtain an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India to be eligible to apply.
Age limit
To apply for these posts, candidates must be at least 20 years old but not more than 28 years old as of September 1. In other words, candidates should have been born between September 2, 1995, and September 1, 2003, inclusive of both these dates.
Reserved category candidates can benefit from relaxation in the upper age limit.
Minimum educational qualification
To be eligible for the post, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate. It’s important to note that candidates should have obtained their bachelor’s degree by September 1, 2023.
For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, there is no specific minimum marks requirement. However, they are required to have a bachelor’s degree in the pass class to be eligible for the position.
Ex-servicemen applying for these positions are required to have either a graduation degree or matriculation (10th grade) or its equivalent examination qualification. Additionally, they must have completed a minimum of 15 years of service in the defense sector to meet the eligibility criteria.
Candidates applying for a post in a specific recruiting office should possess proficiency in the language of the respective state where the recruiting office is located. This proficiency includes the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the language.

Selection process
The selection of candidates will be based on three stages of examination:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Language test
Candidates who successfully clear the main examination will be required to undergo the language proficiency test (LPT). This test will be conducted in the official or local language(s) of the concerned state. For more detailed information, candidates are advised to refer to the official notification.
Application fee
For SC/ST/PwBD/EXS candidates, the application fee is Rs. 50, and an additional 18% GST will be applicable. |
Candidates in the GEN/OBC/EWS category are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 450, and this fee is subject to an additional 18% GST. |
Candidates falling under the “Staff” category are not required to pay any application fee. |
